Based at the Haresign Barbering Academy within ​Esquire Barbershop​, the learner will work alongside Scotland’s FIRST ​Grand Master Barber​, ​Tony Haresign​ experiencing a "real life" Barbershop and how it runs, client care procedures etc.

Some of this time will be dedicated to direct teaching of techniques, methods and generally providing a strong base of hands on practical knowledge. 

This training will be mainly on mannequins until progression is made when the learner will move onto live models.

Advise and Consultation with Clients
Shampoo and Conditioning
Cutting Men's Hair using various Techniques
Cutting Facial Hair/Beards
Assisting for Shaving Services 

Distance Learning via Zoom and E Portal
1:1 Zoom meetings for forward planning, progress discussions, assessments, troubleshooting and coaching, for the duration of the qualification. 

Including Learners Kit (value £295​)
This will include Pivot Point Mannequin, Quartered Steel Scissors, YS Park Combs, Branded Gown, T Shirt, Case or Bag and Denman Brushes.
Clippers and hair dryers can be purchased at a discounted rate. 

Course Delivery/Assessment
The course is taught in a live Barbershop, environment with hands-on practical tasks and also written work. You will work with live models for assessment.
LIVE Interactive delivery via ZOOM, for assessments and e-learning.
You may also require a work placement within the Barbering industry. 

Post Course Support
You will be given support on gaining employment, interview process and trade tests. 

The Learner will finish the course and be 'Shop Ready' Level 2 VTCT QUALIFIED Barber

BARBERING VTCT Level 3

Are you currently working in a Barbershop, and want to improve your knowledge, skills set or want to enhance your career.

This ​bespoke​ course provides you with the training needed to further your career barbering and skill level. The course will be delivered in a number of different ways, including 1:1 In-Person demonstrations, online presentations, working in the barbershop and e-portal.  

Working at the Haresign Barbering Academy within ​Esquire Barbershop​, the learner will train alongside Scotland’s FIRST ​Grand Master Barber​, ​Tony Haresign​ in a "real life" Barbershop. 

Some of this time will be dedicated to direct teaching of techniques, methods and generally providing a strong base of hands on practical knowledge. This training will be mainly on mannequin heads until progression is made when the learner will move onto live models. 

Minimum entry requirements
You must be employed in a barbershop with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Barbering; OR
NC/NQ Barbering (SCQF Level 5); OR
Other equivalent qualifications or experience. 

Additional selection requirements
You will have to undertake a skills test to demonstrate you are at the appropriate level for this course and to assess Relevant Prior Learning. 

Areas Covered
Creatively Cut Hair Using a Combination of Barbering Techniques including Fading & Razor Cutting. Mastering Beards & Facial Hair.
Provide Shaving Services.
Provide Client Consultation - using the ABC Method.
Photography: Building your Portfolio to show your work.
